Intellectual Property is an intangible asset which plays a vital role in gaining competitive advantage in terms of technological gains for achieving higher revenue. It is a very strong evidence of innovative nature of any business. The Unit supports and manage the Intellectual Property of all of its zonal Institutes including IARI.

It has a fully dedicated IP cell that takes care of all the IP issues of the inventors and agri startups. It is facilitating the IP protection of ICAR-IARI innovations through filing applications for patents trademarks, copyrights, PPV&FR etc. and supports them from protection to technology commercialization. Dedicated website ipspectra.ztmbpd.iari.res.in has been launched to create awareness regarding IP with features like information on IP policies, IP Acts & Rules; Lecture series; downloadable forms for IP Services. These services can be availed by submitting online form/ offline form available on the website.

IP Care: It is a free IP consultation window for students and faculty along with various trainings and short courses. They can take free advisory from the experts regarding technology evaluation, IP Exchange and other queries.

The Unit showcases and licenses IP protected technologies and know–how basket of more than 300 agricultural technologies of different domains developed by ICAR-IARI to industry partners for commercial use along with AgrInnovate Pvt. Ltd. For details you may reach out to ztmbpd.iari.res.in.
