a. Beej
Beej is an online two weeks program for young entrepreneurs to learn how to generate, build & scale startup ideas in the agriculture sector. This is also a pre incubation program focused on idea generation and the acquaintance with further startup creation process.
b. ARISE- Launchpad for Agri Startups:
In order to support budding ideas and help innovators in the field of agribusiness and allied sectors to convert their ideas into a reality, ‘Arise’ a uniquely designed program for early-stage agri-startups, powered by RKVY-RAFTAAR Scheme of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India was launched. This is an incubation program organized for idea/prototype stage startups to reach to a level of product development. Arise also organizes a two-months in residency workshop to acquaint the startups with a 360-degree view of Agripreneurship and business development. The funding assistance under this program is up to 5 lakh INR to individual startups.
c. Shitij
SHITIJ is a year-long incubation program that nurtures early-stage startups with full-throttle capacity building, infrastructure, and other resources to solve the big challenges in agriculture with innovative solutions. The co-incubation program is designed to bring together innovators in an immersive 15-day mentoring program to learn, connect, and collaborate. They are further incubated in a 1-year program at Pusa Krishi, ICAR-IARI boosting their growth, network, and resources.
d. ABIC Incubation Program:
This is a one year incubation program run under specific focus areas where startups are incubated virtually. This is a need based mentoring and support program where startups get technical, networking and marketing support.
e. UPJA- Launchpad for Lab to Market:
This is an incubation program, powered by RKVY-RAFTAAR Scheme of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India, that is designed for the startups that have reached to the stage of making Minimum Viable Product (MVP). It attracts applications from across the country that are selected through rigorous screening and stringent selection process. These startups are catering various sub sectors of agriculture including mechanization, food processing, precision farming, biotechnology and allied agricultural activities. Under this program, a two months in-residency workshop is conducted to acquaint the startups with a 360-degree view of Agripreneurship and business development and recommended startups are funded with a grant-in-aid up to 25 Lakh INR each. These startups get the technology validation support, list mile connects, farmers validation, networking and marketing platform along with other benefits.
f. Maitri - Indo Brazil Agri-Tech Cross Border Incubation Program:
In order to promote cross border incubation, start-up exchange and market access for start-ups in agri sector, DST has supported Pusa Krishi incubator under Pusa Taksay Society, a not for profit society. It is the first of its kind and unique cross-border incubation program which focuses on promoting agri start-up incubation, soft landing, start-up exchange and access to global market thereby enabling the social, industrial and economic growth of both countries. The six-month incubation program brought along the five Brazilian and five Indian start-ups selected under the program together to be trained in India and Brazil and promoted cross border trade, technology transfer and collaborations in innovation, research, and training.
g. WomenQuake
WomenQuake is a 3-day pre-incubation series that brings together women entrepreneurs with their path-breaking, daunting, and world-changing ideas. The program hosts immersive workshops with experts on the most important skills for modern-day business. With the powerful conversations, exchange of ideas, brilliant line-up of speakers – this pre-incubation series inspires milestone changes.
h. SAMARTH – Empowering the Incubator:
It is a sector focused incubator manager training program designed for training faculty, scientist, and budding incubator professionals into skilled agri incubator managers. The program focuses on training incubator staff from established and new agri business incubators supported under RKVY-RAFTAAR schemes of MoA& FW. A total of 28 agri incubators housed in agricultural universities and R&D institutions spread across 22 states of India have been trained to date through a series of Samarth Workshops. These trainings have been focused on Planning & Managing of incubators, marketing of incubators, processes and protocols of incubation. The discussions with industry specialists and Policymakers were the highlights of the workshops. Apart from the workshops, handholding of the RAFTAAR Agribusiness Incubators was done by participating in their selection process of startups, developing their processes and protocols and physical visits at their centres.
i. IP workshops
Pusa Krishi , ZTM & BPD Unit, IARI conducts various awareness and hands on workshops on IP Management issues with scientist, universities and startups. These program make the participants understand about IP rights, their importance in the commercial world, leveraging the rights for better benefits, patent searching and drafting with hands on experiences etc. This acquaints the participants with the knowledge to secure their inventions and gain a competitive edge over their counterparts.
j. Agripreneurship Development Programs (ADPs):
In order to train the youth on various technologies of ICAR-IARI, The concept of Agripreneurship Development Programs has been framed and nurtured. Here, budding entrepreneurs are trained on the technical aspects to develop a particular technology along with the development of its various business prepositions. Thirty-Five (35) ADPs have been organized so far in different domains of agriculture and 424 participants got benefitted out of it.
