Plant Nutrition Laboratory: The Mineral Nutrition Laboratory focuses on plant nutrient uptake, transport, and efficiency. Research areas cover nutrient deficiency, toxicity, stress resilience and biofortification aiming to boost crop productivity, quality and environmental stress tolerance. Equipped with CHNS analyzer, ICP-OES and other instruments for measuring physiological processes, the lab enables both fundamental and applied research.
Pot and Field Screening Facilities: The Division has facility like Hi-tech greenhouses, pot culture and field for screening crops to various abiotic stresses in real conditions. |
Sample Processing and Analysis Laboratory: Plant sample processing using precise tissue homogenization, extraction and quantification. The lab ensures high-quality samples for accurate quantification of various metabolites by HPLC. |
Plant Regeneration, Transformation and Genome Editing Laboratory: Developing efficient plant regeneration and genetic transformation protocols and genome edited plants are the main focus areas. Introduction of desirable traits such as stress tolerance, improved nutrient use and enhanced productivity into crops through genetic modification techniques. The advanced facilities include in vitro culture, gene transfer and molecular analysis, supporting the development of transgenic and genome edited crop plants to meet the agricultural and environmental challenges. |
